I ran for 30 minutes and then did my Workout III: Lowerbody at Pure Fitness today. I could barely make it through my weights my legs were so tired. It has been a while and I probably should not have started where I left off weeks ago, but I did. What the heck. Well, my legs are shaky and weak. I started with squats and when I began my warmup with 65lbs I could hardly squat. My knees are getting bad. Really bad. It’s time for a visit to the doctor. After I was warmed up I was able to do the 3 sets of 85lbs. I used the Smith Machine to be safe. But my knees are cracking and making weird noises. They don’t hurt though. That’s a good sign.
I was really lacking energy, probably because I hadn’t eaten since noon and we went to the gym at 2:30pm. My body was ready for some fuel at 3pm, but instead I worked it hard. I was even feeling light headed. I’ll have to plan my workouts around eating a little better. I was just having a lazy, play it by ear day, so I went without really thinking about it. Glad I did though.
Diet tip: I learned from reading a blog the other day that going vegetarian one day a week is a good way to mix up you diet and shock your body a bit. I’m going to try that in my next phase of workouts which begin tomorrow. The blog, ZenHabits, is an interesting blog. Check it out.
Health tip: Try eating vegetarian sometimes
The simple act of replacing meat with something healthier, like soy protein, can make a big difference to our health. Doing this on a regular basis, perhaps once a week or more, can add up to a lot in the long run. Meat is high in saturated fat and cholesterol, and it’s much better for your body if you can avoid it. I became a vegan last year, and I’ve never eaten healthier. You don’t need to become vegan (although I highly recommend it!) to eat healthier, but trying vegan or vegetarian dishes now and then can be a good and healthy experience.

You were lacking energy because you should never do aerobic before lifting. You use up all your glycogen.
