Come On Legs! Push, Push, Push!
Jo Novelli over on the Foothills Revolution Spin blog has been posting her Missy-ism, or saying that her spin instructor says during class. I haven’t attended one of Missy’s classes in a while, but I happen to get a couple of the same instructors each week. There’s Rock ‘n Roll David on Monday mornings and now there is Rene on Wednesday mornings. I haven’t named her yet, but she’s begging to be called Techno Rene, but I haven’t decided if that music is really techno yet. It’s that music that people add to a perfectly good song by someone like Sarah McLachlan and turn it in to the gay men’s national anthem. I think it’s techno. It does the job and keeps us going at 5:45am.
Anyway, Rene loves to yell at our legs. “Come On Legs! Push, Push, Push!” Three pushes. I can’t help but smile when she does it. It’s her signature saying.
My legs got me through my third spin class in a row this week: Monday morning, Tuesday night, and this morning. Yeah, I’m pooped. Had a nap earlier before the football game, and now I’m heading off to bed at 9:30pm. Dang, when did I get old? I burned 501 calories today and had a great diet day.
Coach Alisa (not me, another Alisa) made a few suggestions for me to help me get on the losing track. First was to up my calories to 1800 a day. Yep, she ordered me to eat more. I ate 1832 calories today. Yeah me!
I’m beginning to wonder if all that sugar I eat is bad for me. Most of it is natural sugars from all the fruit I eat, but did you know there is sugar in milk, bread, and broccoli? Weird. The bad sugar comes in my Oatmeal and yogurt, 27g.
Other suggestions: Eat earlier, so I had a peanut butter sandwich and an apple at 6pm, and don’t eat more calories for dinner than you had through out the day. That one is easy.
